Contract Manager – Major Industrial Projects

18-month contract (with potential extension)

For a portfolio of major industrial projects in Milan, we are looking for an experienced Contract Manager to support project execution on medium-to-large capital projects in the €100–500 million range.

This role sits close to the project team and plays a key part in managing contractual risk, claims, variations, and commercial performance throughout the execution phase.

Role Overview

As Contract Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing contract administration and commercial governance across complex industrial projects, working closely with project management, engineering, procurement, and construction teams.

You will act as a key interface between internal stakeholders, contractors, and suppliers, ensuring contractual compliance and protecting project outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
Manage contract administration across engineering, procurement, and construction phases
Lead the review, interpretation, and application of contract terms and conditions
Handle variations, claims, change orders, and commercial negotiations
Support project teams with contractual risk identification and mitigation strategies
Monitor contractor performance against contractual obligations
Contribute to cost control, forecasting, and commercial reporting
Support dispute avoidance and resolution where required
Ensure proper documentation, correspondence, and record-keeping

Required Experience & Profile
Proven experience as Contract Manager or Senior Contract Engineer on industrial projects (€100–500m)
Background in major industrial sectors
Heavy manufacturing or infrastructure
Strong understanding of EPC / EPCM contracting environments
Solid knowledge of contract forms (e.g. FIDIC or similar)
Comfortable working on site and in multidisciplinary project teams
Strong commercial awareness and negotiation skills

Education & Language
Degree in Engineering, Project Management Quantity Surveying, or similar
Fluent English required
Italian is a strong advantage
