We are seeking a Senior Molding Engineer to lead the development and optimization of injection molding systems.
This role involves the creation, qualification, and launch of complex and innovative injection molding systems. As a key member of our team, you will help define the future of advanced injection molding technologies.
The ideal candidate will have a robust background in injection molding processes and extensive experience in high-volume production operations.
Duties and Responsibilities
Specify, develop, purchase and qualify tooling, fixtures and equipment used in molding operations
Select and validate new polymer materials for molding and extrusion applications
Manage the execution of all validation activities associated with new molded/extruded components and assemblies
Manage the activities performed by Livanova’s molding and extrusion suppliers
Manage and serve as project leader for base business projects that involved polymer materials and molded components, including resolution of quality-related problems with released product that require analysis and implementation of corrective actions
Research new molding and extrusion suppliers and processes
Lead the development and optimization of injection molding systems
Define the future of advanced injection molding technologies
Lead the development of improvement plans and requirements for capacity expansion and future mold generations and production setups
Lead cross-functional Root Cause Analysis and Event Response Investigations
Coordinate manufacturing acceptance of new molds and process in regular production
Coordinate Design for Manufacturing (DFM) assessments and definition of manufacturing requirements for new products
The Individual
Ability to serve as project leader for molding related projects
Demonstrated expertise in mold and extrusion tooling specifications, design and construction
Demonstrated experience in writing and executing molding equipment validations and process validations
Experience with hands-on operation of molding machines in production environment
Statistical analysis knowledge required, including an understanding of how to execute Design of Experiments (DOE)
Experience managing new products and manufacturing process
Work independently and take initiative in developing creative solutions
